What age can children begin tennis lessons?

Children can begin as young as age 5 with the Orange Ball program, which uses low-compression balls and age-appropriate drills designed for young beginners.

Which ball color is appropriate for my child?

Orange Ball is for ages 5–8, Green Ball for ages 7–12, and Yellow Ball for ages 10–14. If you're unsure, contact us and we'll help place your child in the right program.

How do I choose the right skill level?

If your child has never played before, start with the beginner program for their age group. For adults, beginner clinics are open to all new players. Contact us if you'd like a recommendation.

Where do we meet?

All Greenville Tennis Lessons programs are held at Southside Park, 417 Baldwin Road, Simpsonville, SC 29680. Head toward the tennis courts near the main athletic fields when you arrive.

What should players bring?

Players should bring a tennis tennis racket, water, and appropriate athletic clothing and footwear. Balls are provided for group programs. Check your specific program for any additional equipment requirements.

What happens when it rains?

Sessions may be cancelled or rescheduled due to weather. Registered participants will be notified by email as early as possible. Check your email and our events page for updates.

Can I book a drop-in class?

Yes. Southside Park has restrooms and accessible parking near the shelters and athletic facilities. The park is owned and operated by Greenville County Parks, Recreation and Tourism.
